Suzana Vasiljević, media advisor to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, stated tonight that the main message of the session of the Serbian Assembly called by the opposition, where they demanded a ban on the excavation of lithium and boron, as well as the end and beginning of the opposition’s story about lithium excavation, is that excavation is not for undemocratic societies, meaning that the opposition wants lithium excavation, but only when they come to power.
Vasiljević said that the President of the Democratic Party and MP Zoran Lutovac asked whether the story about lithium will mark the end of Vučić’s rule.
„It’s not about pollution, but about the fact that the money from lithium should not come to Serbia until they are in power,“ Vasiljević said on RTV Pink, emphasizing that the opposition merely wants to remove Vučić from power.
Vasiljević also reminded that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz recently said that Germany and the Czech Republic will work together to open lithium mines.
